I never planned on becoming a soap-making person, but here we are.

1. Strawberry Lemonade Soap

Oh, I love this soap for summer gifts.
The scent is fresh without being overpowering, and the color combo makes it feel special even though it’s beginner friendly.
This is perfect for summer craft fairs, gift baskets, or just stocking up your bathroom with something cheerful.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- Melt and pour soap base (clear or goat milk), about 2 pounds
- Lemon fragrance oil or essential oil
- A touch of berry or raspberry fragrance oil
- Pink mica powder or soap-safe colorant
- Yellow mica powder or soap-safe colorant
- Rubbing alcohol (for bubbles)
- Soap mold (silicone works best)
How You Make It
- You cut the soap base into small cubes and melt it slowly in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
- You divide the melted soap into two containers. One gets lemon scent with a tiny bit of yellow color, and the other gets berry scent with soft pink color.
- You pour the yellow layer into the mold first and let it set slightly so it’s still tacky.
- You gently pour the pink layer on top to create that lemonade look.
- You spritz the top with rubbing alcohol to pop bubbles and let it fully harden before unmolding.
2. Watermelon Splash Soap

I love this soap for summer markets and gifts.
The colors are fun, the scent is sweet without being overpowering, and it always catches attention on a table.
This summer scent is perfect for kids, teens, and anyone who wants something playful but still handmade.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- Melt and pour soap base (clear or white), about 2 pounds
- Watermelon fragrance oil
- Red or pink soap-safe colorant or mica powder
- Green soap-safe colorant or mica powder
- Black soap-safe colorant or poppy seeds (for “seeds”)
- Rubbing alcohol
- Silicone soap mold
How You Make It
- You start by cutting your soap base into small cubes and melting it slowly in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
- You pour a small amount of melted soap into one container and tint it green for the rind, then pour a thin layer into the mold and let it set just until firm.
- You tint the remaining melted soap red or pink and stir in the watermelon fragrance oil.
- You add a few drops of black color or a sprinkle of poppy seeds to mimic watermelon seeds, then gently pour this layer over the green base.
- You spritz the top with rubbing alcohol to remove bubbles and let the soap fully harden before unmolding.
3. Coconut Lime Soap

This makes for a summer gift set for markets.
The coconut keeps it cozy, while the lime makes it fresh and clean, so it works for almost everyone.
This summer scent is perfect for beach-themed baskets, bathrooms, or anyone who loves a clean tropical vibe.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- 2 pounds melt and pour soap base (white works best for this one)
- Coconut fragrance oil
- Lime fragrance oil or lime essential oil (skin-safe)
- Green soap-safe colorant or mica powder
- White mica powder (optional, for a creamy look)
- Rubbing alcohol
- Silicone soap mold
How You Make It
- You cut the soap base into small cubes and melt it gently in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until completely smooth.
- You stir in the coconut and lime fragrance oils, adjusting the balance so the lime feels bright but not overpowering.
- You add a tiny amount of green colorant for a soft lime tint, or mix in white mica if you want a creamy coconut look.
- You pour the soap into your mold and lightly spritz the top with rubbing alcohol to remove bubbles.
- You let the soap cool and harden completely before unmolding.
4. Mango Butter Soap

You’ll love this mango butter soap because it feels extra nourishing without being complicated.
The mango butter makes the bars feel luxurious, which is perfect if you’re selling or gifting and want something that feels special.
This summer scent is perfect for people who love fruity soaps but still want something creamy and soft on the skin.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- 2 pounds melt and pour soap base (shea butter or goat milk both work great)
- 2 tablespoons mango butter
- Mango fragrance oil (skin-safe)
- Yellow or orange soap-safe colorant or mica powder
- Rubbing alcohol
- Silicone soap mold
How You Make It
- You cut the soap base into small cubes and melt it slowly in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
- You melt the mango butter separately until just softened, then stir it into the melted soap base until fully blended.
- You add the mango fragrance oil and mix well so the scent distributes evenly.
- You stir in a small amount of yellow or orange colorant to give it that soft mango glow.
- You pour the soap into your mold and spritz the top with rubbing alcohol to pop any bubbles.
- You let the soap cool and harden completely before removing it from the mold.
5. Peach Bellini Soap

The colors stay vibrant, the fragrance plays nice, and the design looks impressive without being stressful.
This summer scent is perfect for playful gift sets, kids soap collections, or eye-catching market displays that actually sell.
Ingredients You’ll Need
Base Soap Recipe
- Cold process soap oils of your choice (use your go-to beginner recipe)
- Lye solution (prepared safely ahead of time)
- Peach Bellini fragrance oil (skin-safe, non-accelerating)
Add-Ins and Color
- Neon soap-safe mica powders (pink, orange, yellow, blue, or rainbow tones)
- Titanium dioxide
- Base oil for pre-mixing micas
- Optional: popsicle soap mold and wooden popsicle sticks
How You Make It
- You prepare your lye solution and set it aside. Since this soap can be made quickly, you can let the heat of the lye solution help melt your hard oils and butters if needed.
- You combine your oils and lye solution and blend until light trace, just thick enough that the soap won’t separate.
- You add the Peach Bellini fragrance oil and stir well. This fragrance behaves beautifully, doesn’t accelerate, and cures strong, even if it smells light at first.
- You divide the soap batter into several containers and pre-mix your neon micas with a small amount of base oil, then stir each color into its own portion.
- You add a small amount of titanium dioxide to one portion to brighten the base and help the colors pop.
- You blend each color to a similar consistency so they pour evenly without sinking or overpowering each other.
- You pour the soap using a simple drop swirl, alternating colors down the mold for a soft rainbow effect without overthinking the design.
- You tap the mold gently to release air bubbles, clean the edges, and set it aside to insulate and cure.
- If using popsicle molds, you pour the soap into the cavities, insert popsicle sticks once slightly set, and allow them to harden fully before unmolding.
Curing and Finishing
- You let the soap harden completely before unmolding.
- You cut, bevel, and place the bars on a curing rack for several weeks.
- As it cures, the scent deepens and becomes stronger, which is such a happy surprise.

If you love that classic orange creamsicle scent, this soap is going to make you smile the second you unwrap it. It smells sweet, citrusy, and just creamy enough to feel nostalgic without being overpowering.
This is one of those beginner-friendly soaps that looks impressive but is actually super simple to make.

How to Make It

- Add orange color and scent: Stir orange essential oil and orange mica into one half until fully blended and evenly colored.
- Add creamy layer scent: Leave the second half white or stir in a small amount of vanilla fragrance oil for that creamsicle vibe.
- Pour the first layer: Pour the orange layer into your molds and allow it to set until it’s firm to the touch but still slightly tacky.
- Pour the cream layer: Gently pour the white layer over the orange base. Lightly spritz the top with rubbing alcohol to remove bubbles.
- Let harden completely: Allow the soap to sit undisturbed for several hours until fully firm.
- Unmold and dry: Carefully remove from molds and let air dry for 24 hours before wrapping or gifting.
This one always smells like summer in the best way. It’s bright, creamy, and honestly hard to stop making once you try it.

How to Make It
- Cut and melt the base: Cube the soap base and melt in 30-second intervals in the microwave, stirring between each round until smooth.

- Add color: If using mica, stir in a small amount of pink or coral color until you reach your desired shade. Keep it soft and summery.
- Pour into molds: Carefully pour the soap into silicone molds. Lightly spritz the top with rubbing alcohol to remove surface bubbles.
- Optional mint topping: If adding dried mint, sprinkle just a tiny pinch on top. Press gently so it adheres without sinking.
- Let harden: Allow the soap to fully set for several hours at room temperature.
- Unmold and cure briefly: Remove from molds and let sit 24 hours before wrapping or selling.
9. Lime Basil Soap

The lemon keeps it bright and clean, while the basil gives it that soft green depth that feels natural and elevated. I love this scent combo for summer because it feels crisp, grown-up, and perfect for gifting.
Ingredients
For a small cold process batch (about 2 pounds of soap):
- 10 oz olive oil
- 8 oz coconut oil
- 6 oz shea butter
- 8 oz distilled water
- 3.9 oz lye (sodium hydroxide)
- 1 tablespoon dried basil (finely crushed) or basil powder
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest (very finely grated, optional)
- 1–1.5 oz lemon essential oil
- 0.5 oz basil essential oil
- Yellow and green mica (optional for swirl)
How to Make It
- Prep your space: Wear gloves and goggles and measure all ingredients precisely using a digital scale. Line your mold and have everything ready before starting.
- Mix the lye solution: Slowly add lye to distilled water in a heat-safe container. Stir carefully until dissolved and set aside to cool. Never add water to lye.
- Melt the oils: Gently melt coconut oil and shea butter. Add olive oil and allow the mixture to cool to around 100–110°F.
- Combine and blend: Once both the oils and lye solution are within 10 degrees of each other, slowly pour the lye solution into the oils. Use a stick blender in short bursts until light trace forms.
- Add scent and botanicals: Stir in lemon and basil essential oils. Add crushed basil and lemon zest if using. Mix gently to distribute evenly.
- Optional color swirl: Divide batter into two portions. Add yellow mica to one and green mica to the other. Pour into the mold and lightly swirl with a spatula for a natural herbal look.
- Pour and insulate: Pour into mold, tap gently to release air bubbles, and cover lightly. Allow to sit 24–48 hours.
- Unmold and cure: Cut into bars and cure in a cool, dry place for 4–6 weeks before using or selling.

- 4 oz kokum butter
- 2 oz castor oil

How to Make It

- Divide and color: Split batter into two portions.
- Color one portion purple using ultramarines.
- Color the other portion yellow using yellow oxide.
Add titanium dioxide if you want a brighter base.
- Pour and swirl: Pour the purple layer into the mold first. Gently add yellow on top. Lightly swirl with a spatula or chopstick. Do not overmix or the colors may turn muddy.
