12 Surprising Pinterest Strategies for Easy Income

For the past eight months or so, I’ve been seeing amazing growth on Pinterest.

Not just for this blog – I mean I can’t believe how much Twins Mommy has grown – but for Sponge Hacks, my public site and my niche sites too.

Every site I own and market on Pinterest is doing fantastic.

And with all this traffic coming to Twins Mommy my email list is growing, and my income from my products is growing.

I worried that Pinterest would change like Google did and suddenly stop the flow of traffic to content creators…but…

But it hasn’t happened and I don’t know if it ever will too.

For now, I’m taking advantage of how EASY it is to start a NEW blog and promote it on Pinterest and you should too!

So if you are wanting all of this traffic and income too here are some amazing Pinterest strategies for easy income.

But First, How is Twins Mommy’s Blog Traffic Doing?

I’ve been spending close to a month or two trying to pivot this blog from an SEO blog to a Pinterest blog.

I’m still getting SEO traffic but I’m slowly moving my blog over to Pinterest traffic.

Back in October and November of 2024, I started to change the content on this blog.

At that time I had around 19,000 pageviews.

So, for the next two months I published content that pinners like:

  • Crafts to make and sell
  • Desk decor ideas
  • Home office decor ideas
  • Holiday themed decor
  • Pinterest marketing

My Pinterest marketing blog posts aren’t that popular on Pinterest but PinClicks tells me there are Pinterest keywords so I will see if I get traction on those posts.

What happened after two months? Well, here’s my traffic.

Can you believe it?

59,000 pageviews!!!!!

That’s crazy. I’ve never ever had this quick of a growth on my blog.

Never. And it’s all thanks to Pinterest.

And all of this translates to email and income growth.

Here are my email sign ups for the past few months. You can see that when I started this around November the email list started to grow.

There is a dip in December but that’s because it’s a holiday and I don’t think I was publishing a lot in that month.

And for income, it’s hard to isolate the income from the course I’m selling on this blog in Teachable since I have many courses from my other blog, Elna Cain.

But, overall this blog and my niche blogs are earning income all thanks to Pinterest strategies.

12 Pinterest Strategiest to Start Using Today

So, is there a Pinterest strategy that actually works?

Of course. In my eBook, I give you several tactics to add to YOUR strategy.

But if you NNED a strategy, then my course Pin & Win is the scalable $5k/month course you need.

For this post, I’ll share how you can gain income from this strategy in Pin & Win or from my ebook.

So, let’s get to it.

1. Create Pins for Affiliate Marketing

Many bloggers are seriously making tens of thousands of dollars with affiliate marketing. I’ll be truthful with you and tell you that THAT isn’t me.

I have been doing affiliate marketing for many years but I struggle with some platforms than others. If you don’t know, affiliate marketing is when you promote a product or service from a business and if a person buys from your recommendation you get a kickback.

You can become an affiliate for one company or sign up to an affiliate marketing platform like Shareasale.

I have a Sharesale account and an Amazon account. I do most of my affiliate marketing with Amazon for my niche sites and I typically make around $200/month.

It’s better than nothing!

All I do is when I talk about products in a blog post I find it on Amazon, paste my unique affiliate link and that’s all. Of course, with any affiliate marketing platform, you have to abide by their disclaimers and Amazon has one of the strongest.

For your Pinterest strategy to work, make sure you add affiliate links to every blog post you publish to ensure that someone will click on your links!

2. Grow Your Traffic for Ad Income

By far the #1 Pinterest strategy to focus on for your blog is ads.

It’s passive and very easy to scale.

I have six blogs in Mediavine and most, if not all, make income from ads.

This is the primary way I monetize all my niche sites and all I have to worry about is growing my traffic.

And with my Pin & Win course, it’s practically on autopilot.

I’m shocked by the success and fast growth my sites have and I know it works for a variety of popular Pinterest niches AND for older established blogs, like Twins Mommy.

While there are many ad platforms to use, the one I recommend is Mediavine. It’s blogger-friendly and they recently opened it up for a lower tier of traffic (due to the Google updates and destroying bloggers).

Originally, to get into Mediavine you need 50,000 sessions. You still do if you want to get into “regular” Mediavine.

But, they opened up Journey By Mediavine and all you need is 10,000 sessions to apply for ads.

Now, I’ve been hearing stories of bloggers getting in with only 1,000 sessions!

But, I think the caveat is that they already have dozens of blog posts. So, it’s like using your old blog that got destroyed by Google and just applying to see what happens.

Either case, once you are in, all you have to do is find high-traffic keywords, get the post published, create pins and market it on Pinterest.

Easy peasy!

3. Sell Printables on Pinterest

To really make your blog a business, then selling your own products is the way to go. Many of these Pinterest strategies will revolve around your own products.

Nowadays it’s becoming easier and easier to create printables. These can be anything like:

  • Workbooks
  • Planners
  • Templates
  • Swipe Files
  • Calendar
  • Checklists
  • Charts (like a chore chart)
  • Flash Cards
  • Artwork
  • Journals
  • Worksheets

The list is endless to the types of printables you can create and sell.

But where do you sell them? There are many ways to sell your printables like using Gumroad or a plugin, but I’ve always used Teachable.

They are a course platform and make it easy to sell your digital downloads.

You can use Canva to create your printable but I would be cautious about using any of their paid templates.

I think you can’t distribute those for payment. Instead, stick with the free templates.

But, what I end up doing is going to Creative Market to find templates for Canva and just use those. I use those for my lead magnets and digital products.

These templates you can use and sell for your own business.

So, how does this fit for your Pinterest Strategy?

Well, planners are a hot topic on Pinterest.

PinClicks says there are over 260,000 searches for planners. There are also many keywords for specific planners.

So, for your strategy I would create blog posts about planners and create pins for your free planners and paid planners.

I would also think about creating many free planners to lead into your paid ones. So, you can have a 3-page planner for budgeting and then offer your subscriber a more comprehensive budget planner (that’s paid).

Where do you sell printable?

A popular platform is Etsy, but you can also sell them on your blog or even on Teachable!

4. Sell a Course on Pinterest

I make the MOST income from my courses. This is my #1 way to make money online.

Not printable and not ads, but a course or two or three.

My Pin & Win has already made $10,000. My other courses and products have totaled over $1 million dollars.

But all my successful products are courses.

People love to enroll in a course that shares a strategy or motivates a user to achieve something.

If you can help a person to get form point A to point B you can create a course.

It doesn’t have to be a lengthly one either.

I also sell 1-hour masterclasses and those do well too!

So, how can I use a Pinterest strategy for this income path?

I would have an email list and helpful blog posts for your audience. You want to know inside and out what your audience is struggling with and an email list can help you with that.

You can ask your subscribers what types of posts they want from you next or that you’re thinking of creating a free resource but need help narrowing it down.

If you are social media, you can also poll your social media audience with polls or ask them during a Live.

Once you know what your audience is struggling with, then I would create a course to help them with it.

You can then create blog posts and add a call-to-action to enroll in your course or talk about it (like I do in some posts), and then pin those posts.

Over time, people will enroll!

5. Promote Your Membership on Pinterest

A membership is one way to offer ongoing value while building a steady income stream as a blogger or content creator.

Instead of a one-time purchase like a course or masterclass, a membership is a subscription process and gives people continued access to exclusive content, coaching, resources, or a private community.

Setting one up is simple with platforms like Circle, Teachable, Skool, or Kajabi. These platforms let you host content, manage subscribers, and handle payments, making it easy if this is your first time creating a membership.

This is something I’m not interested in as I feel you would need a lot of new content for your members and that’s hard for me since I don’t create a lot of digital products.

You can market your membership in every blog post you write and then create pins for those blog posts. You can create pins specifically for your membership page and to free resources that lead to your membership.

6. Promote Your YouTube Video on Pinterest

If you have a YouTube channel (which I think you should have one since more people are watching YouTube than TV!) then you can market your YouTube video on Pinterest.

This can help you get more views and eventually get monetized, if you aren’t already.

It’s easy to create a Pin on Canva for your YouTube video since they have the play button you can use on your pin.

While I don’t do this a lot, I should as I feel it would grow my views and eventual income!

7. Sell Your eBooks on Pinterest

If you created an eBook then make sure to create a ton of pins for that eBook (something that I haven’t done!).

I know I know, do as I say….

But it’s true. I need to listen to myself about this. I remember one day on the couch, saving some pins from my phone about Pinterest and for one of the pins I clicked over to read the post but you know what it was?

It was for this woman’s eBook!

So, if she got me to click on over, then I’m sure you can create pins for your eBook to make others click on over and buy!

8. Grow your Email List on Pinterest

If you want to make more sales of your products then it’s time to start and grow your email list.

Pinterest is the perfect platform to create pins for your landing page.

When I first started Twins Mommy, this is what I did….heavily.

I created a ton of pins for my landing page and grew my list to thousands in a short time.

It works!

9. Market Your Sponsored Content on Pinterest

Some bloggers gain income with sponsored content. If you have an engaging audience and some traffic you can collaborate with companies to post about their product and get some income for that.

This can be lucrative for sure and if you use Pinterest, you might make more money for sure since you’ll gain more traffic than other ways.

I’ve never done sponsored content so don’t know how much it pays but I wouldn’t be surprised that a company would pay up to $5,000 for an article and a few social posts.

10. Offer Coaching Services on Pinterest

If you’re really good with your Pinterest strategy, then why not offer a Pinterest service and market it on Pinterest? Many bloggers go this route because it’s an easy way to start making income that month or even that week.

When I opened up my coaching for writers, I landed 10 clients in one week so there are people who really enjoy the 1:1 relationship.

11. Promote Your Etsy Store on Pinterest

Instead of directing people to your blog, why not direct them to your store or Etsy store?

eCommerce is huge on Pinterest so if you have products to sell, Pinterest will LOVE YOU!

12. Pin Your Resource Page

Last but not least, you can create a resource page on your blog of all the products you use. This could be your email service provider, a social media automation tool, a camera you use and so on.

You can become affiliates for all of those and then create a pin for that resource page.

I did this in the beginning of Twins Mommy and gained many sales on my resource page.
