I’ve been blogging since 2014 mamas!
I started as a freelance writer and then in 2016 I started blogging on Twins Mommy.
Then a year or two after tha,t I started multiple niche websites.
It seems that I’ve done it all, but the thing that eluded me was the 100,000 pageview benchmark.
Oh, I got close many many times – 70,000 here 85,000 there – but never achieved 100,000 pageviews or more.
Well, in 2025 I did and I want to share with you my blogging strategy to get to that many pageviews because there is only ONE reason I want that many pageviews….
It’s for ad income.
These niche websites make money via ad income.
My blog has ads on it, and if a reader from Pinterest (mostly) views the post and skims it, I earn income.
They don’t even have to click the ad for me to make money…just view it.
This is the MOST passive way to earn income because all you do is blog, and if you have many blogs like I do, then you can just focus on growing your blog traffic.
So, grab a coffee or tea and check out the crucial steps I took to get to 100,000 pageviews.
The 100,000 Pageview Blog
If you don’t have time to read this post, make sure you check out my YouTube video on what is working for blogging right now.
This can help you grow your blog quicker.
The site that reached 100,000 pageviews is my official niche website.
Prior to this, I had other blogs but most were contributor blogs or my other brand blog (freelance blog), so those really didn’t count (although I am and was trying to grow the blogs to 100,000 pageviews.).
Sorting Out the Income Strategy
So, when I started this new blog, I wanted it to serve as a “traditional” niche website and that meant SEO and affiliate marketing.
But, affiliate marketing wasn’t working that well.
I was able to get around $250/month with affiliate marketing but my goal was to get at least $1,000/month to make this project “worth it.”
I never thought about using an ad platform for extra income.
I always hated ads on blogs and never read blogs with ads on them.
But, then my viewpoint changed when I asked other bloggers what they thought about ads and many of them didn’t mind.
So, that convinced me to try this blogging strategy.
I knew I would use Mediavine because most of my main blogs (including this one) is on Mediavine.
SEO Traffic Strategy Tanked
And that meant you need at least 50,000 sessions to qualify (this is like 60,000 pageviews).
My niche site, at the time, wasn’t close to that.
It was around 20,000-30,000 pageviews and that was after years of growing it.
I had about 20,000 pageviews from SEO (Google traffic) and 10,000 pageviews from Pinterest.
But then after Google’s 2024 Core Update (Helpful Content Update), soo many blogs were wiped out….including my niche website!
The 20,000 pageviews from SEO…gone!
So, my plan was to go all in on Pinterest and recover my lost traffic.
Signing Up to Grow by Mediavine
Shortly after the Google core update in 2024, Mediavine opened up a tier called Grow by Mediavine.
They wanted to help out all the sites that lost massive amounts of traffic and opened up a lower tier. For Grow you needed only 10,000 sessions.
So, once I heard about Grow, I decided to apply and my niche site was approved.
The Pinterest Plan to Fix It All
I’m so glad I went all in with Pinterest in the spring of 2024.
Little did I know that there would be a Pinterest tool in the works that would change my blogging strategy monumentally (but we are not there yet).
1. Pinterest Trends
So, instead of using Ahrefs to find SEO keywords, I was using Pinterest trends to help me find topics to write about.

I had immediate success using Pinterest trends and I couldn’t believe it.
I even wrote a book (it’s been updated) called 15 Genius Pinterest Secrets for Bloggers.
It was around this time that I started a new niche website and started honing down my Pinterest strategy (that later became my signature course Pin & Win.
So, after I made this pivot, PinClicks came out and this is what really helped my new Pinterest strategy.
2. PinClicks
PinClicks is a Pinterest SEO tool developed by Tony Hill.
The tool shows you top pins, annotations that Pinterest assigns each pins, keywords and more.
I use PinClicks literally 50 or more times a day…it’s that necessary for your blogging strategy.
In my course, Pin & Win, I show you how I use PinClicks to find the RIGHT keywords that will grow your blog fast!
So, if I wanted to write a new blog post for Twins Mommy, I would search topics and see if I could write about. I can also see on Pinterest trends, what is “taking off” in my niche.
For example, small sewing projects is getting an uptick but if I only looked at Pinterest trends, I couldn’t really see how many searches it’s actually getting.
That’s where PinClicks comes in!
I can type in that Pinterest trend and really see how much traffic I could potentially get.

And there it is!
This keyword gets globs of Pinterest traffic and it is a topic I can write about.
I use PinClicks more to really see how I can write those post looking at other pins and keywords, but that’s all in my Pin & Win course!
3. Nail Down a Pin Design that Gets Clicks
Because I have multiple websites with multiple Pinterest profiles (across a variety of niches, too), I can see what makes a great Pin design.
I feel that my strongest two niche websites (the one that is at 100,000 pageviews and my other one at 96k pageviews) are mostly due to the Pin designs I have for them.
I use non-branded, text on pins and no text on pins that are 1,000 x 1,500 or 1,000 x 2,000.
When I use text on the pin, I make sure to make it the most important part of the pin.
It’s something I’ve been working on for years and luckily for you, I have 50+ Canva Pin templates for you!

I’ve been diligently adding more and more proven templates that actually bring clicks and traffic and eventual income for you!
I find that warm colors and large text work and for some niches, not showing a face.
4. Schedule My Pins
Another HUGE part of my blogging strategy is automating my pinning schedule.
It would be IMPOSSIBLE to have all of these niche websites AND manually pin to Pinterest.
So, I decided to use a 3rd party scheduler.
Now, for many years, I was using Tailwind, and I still love Tailwind but I just don’t like the updated user experience.
Tailwind is built around using multiple platforms and designing a content strategy.
I just want to use Tailwind for pinning, and it just seems I was using a Ferrari to run errands, so to speak.
So, then I decided to try PinGenerator and again, I had another leap in traffic after using this tool!

I can schedule pins for multiple sites, and I can even upload my Canva Pin Templates into PinGenerator to use!

It’s been crucial to have a scheduling tool so I can send multiple pins per day for each of my niche websites.
In my Pin & Win course I show you step-by-step how to use PinGenerator so there’s not guessing here!
5. Abandon a Publishing Schedule
One thing I used to do as a blogger was make sure I published consistently.
In the beginning, it was 2x a week and then it relaxed to 1x a week.
But in 2025? I don’t worry about publishing consistently on any of my websites.
Some days I publish 3 posts a day and other times I wait a few weeks before I publish a post.
It seems not to matter, at least for niche websites where traffic is the strategy.
For this blog, Twins Mommy, I have built an audience so it’s not that great that I don’t have a posting schedule and I apologize for that!
If you have an audience building blog like this one, then of course, it’s best to have some sort of publishing schedule. It doesn’t have to be publishing every week on your blog either.
If you have an email list, are on social media, or have a YouTube channel, then you can use those platforms to post consistently.
For example, you publish a YouTube video and three days later you write a blog post about that video and then the next day you email your list about the video and blog post.
The next week you can post an Instagram story about that blog post topic and refer viewers to your blog.
Of course, I described a perfect world of blogging, and that never happens to me, but you get the idea!
For me, since my twins will be home for the summer, and it’ll be a busy season for me, I worked hard at scheduling weekly newsletters up until school starts.
Now, I don’t have to worry about “being consistent” with my blog or YouTube channel; I have my newsletter to direct readers to my blog or channel to help me stay relevant.
But, if we are talking about traffic building sites, like my niche websites, then it really doesn’t matter when you publish – especially if you have a pinning scheduling tool.
6. Outsource the Blogs
While I DO most of the things in my business, I do have one writer to help me with content.
I just have too many websites to focus on and she’s great at helping me. I give her around 10 posts a month across my various niches and then keeps me publishing frequently, if I can’t get around to it!
You might be asking, “Well, Elna, what about using AI instead?”
I use AI AND I have a writer so I need both.
AI isn’t going anywhere and it’s slowly becoming commonplace online.
So, it’s best to use it and find a process within your content strategy.
For me, I use it as an assistant when I’m stuck.
For example, if I need to describe an image, I can feed ChatGPT the image and have it describe it for me.
Or, if I need a Pinterest description, I created a prompt that gives me engaging descriptions.
If you want to use AI more in your content strategy so you can blog more (and my AI prompts), make sure to check out my ebook 27 Clever Blog Tips with AI.

It’s over 100,000 pageviews and I’m ecstatic.
