Summer Blog Traffic Plan for 2025: How I Manage 6+ Blogs as a Busy Mom

Summer is here and I’m already sun burned!

Look – between my twins having tennis golf, baseball, hockey, and new track practices, summer is anything but slow here.

And I have 6+ websites to manage and client work for my freelance business.

And it seems to get harder and harder as my twins get older and older.

Is it the same with you? As a busy mom, running a blog or posting on Instagram getting challenging?

With each activity, my personal work hours shrink, yet my list of blogs and products grows.

If you also feel more stretched as your kids get older, you’re not alone. Blogging with kids is about grabbing small pockets of time and still enjoying family.

Let’s talk about what’s working for my summer blog plan, real-life tools I use, and easy tactics to keep your blog’s traffic steady without working around the clock.

Because even if you feel like you’re doing this by yourself, you aren’t (if you use my strategies!)

1. Splitting Up Blogging for the Summer

Make sure to grab your free 2025 Summer Blog Plan for Mom Bloggers!

For me, not every blog gets the same focus during the summer.

Most of my attention is with my niche websites, because I want to keep growing them, even if I’m not posting as often elsewhere.

Here’s my simple split:

  • Niche blogs: main focus, steady content and planning
  • Personal blog (Twins Mommy): lighter posting, but kept alive through other channels

You don’t need to publish on every blog weekly.

Focus your energy to the sites that matter most during these busy months.

2. Pre-Writing Emails

One thing I did this year that I didn’t fully commit to last year or prior years, was pre-writing my emails…for both my email lists.

I pre-wrote and scheduled my newsletters, so readers hear from me each week, even when life gets busy.

Each batch of newsletters I wrote took about two hours for both my Twins Mommy audience and freelance writer list.

If I need to, I can pop in and update with a new YouTube or product, so they always feel fresh and relevant.

Finding Email Topics That Stick During Summer

If you struggle with finding newsletter ideas, I often try to repurpose blog posts or videos and look to seasonal ideas.

Summer-specific ideas I used for my newsletters are:

  • The best blog niches for Pinterest right now
  • Making extra money while kids are home
  • Behind the scenes of using AI to speed up projects
  • Why every year is still a good year to start a blog

Another way to find newsletter topics is to just ask ChatGPT.

ChatGPT is perfect for brainstorming fresh email ideas, blog post angles, or Pinterest strategies.

Feed it your blog’s niche and target reader, and let it suggest newsletter themes, headlines, or content blocks. Use AI as your creative springboard, not as a full-on substitute for your voice.

3. Scheduling Pins in Advance

Pinterest is the ONLY platform I use to market all my websites.

Why?

Because it works!

And to keep my profiles relevant I preload pins using Pin Generator.

I avoid scheduling seasonal posts too far out (no Fourth of July posts in August) and update the schedule as I publish new blog content.

Managing multiple Pinterest accounts takes time—sometimes an hour a day spread over several days—but it’s worth it.

If you’re looking for more Pinterest help, my Pin & Win Pinterest marketing course walks through how to create, schedule, and track your pins.

4. Weekly Scheduling for Less Stress and More Results

Here’s how my weekdays look during the summer:

  • Monday & Tuesday: Work on client projects and my next ebook (Yes! I have a new eBook in the works)
  • Wednesday to Friday: Block time for blog content creation, YouTube filming, SEO research, and updating my sites

If you run one blog, you can split up your process:

  • Write the intro on Monday
  • Craft the main post Tuesday
  • Edit, add graphics, and publish Wednesday

This system keeps blogging from bleeding into family time while still moving projects ahead.

Keeping Traffic Up Without Constant Posting

Even when publishing slows, your audience doesn’t have to suffer!

Rely on YouTube and your email list to share updates and direct traffic.

When you are more consistent on a different platform, growth without daily posting is totally possible.

Summer Blogging: Favorite Tools and Resources

Here’s what tools I use the most right now:

  • Pin Generator: Bulk-scheduling for Pinterest, easier content flow
  • ChatGPT: Brainstorming ideas, outlining, starting drafts
  • Canva: Designing pins and blog graphics

What To Do When You Can’t Blog Regularly

If blogging weekly feels impossible this summer, swap to platforms that are easier to keep up. A few reliable ideas:

  • Email newsletters (weekly, every other week, monthly)
  • Pinterest pins scheduled in advance
  • Repackaging old blog content for social or email

When struggling for topics, don’t hesitate to get help from AI tools like ChatGPT or to batch your work so you don’t fall behind.
